EUDR and EUTR
Demonstrating deforestation-free supply chains
The EU Deforestation Regulation applies to large and medium-sized companies from 30 December 2026 and to micro and small enterprises from 30 June 2027.
EUDR – Regulation (EU) 2023/1115
The EUDR prohibits placing on the EU market or exporting commodities and products linked to deforestation or forest degradation, or not produced in line with the laws of the country of production. It covers wood, cattle, cocoa, coffee, oil palm, rubber and soy, and products made from them such as paper, pulp, furniture or chocolate.
The core obligation is due diligence: collecting information including geolocation data, assessing and mitigating risks, and submitting a due diligence statement in the EU information system. Certifications such as FSC® or PEFC do not replace due diligence but can support it effectively.

EUTR – Regulation (EU) No 995/2010
The EU Timber Regulation prohibits placing illegally harvested timber on the market and requires operators to run a due diligence system. It continues to apply until the EUDR takes effect and is then replaced by it; transitional rules apply to timber produced before certain cut-off dates.
